Mission Statement

The mission of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is to preach, teach, and witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ, administer the Sacraments, and give glory and honor to the Triune God.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.  Amen.  (Matthew  28:19-20)

Jesus said: “I am the Way and the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  (John  14:6)

Confessional Standard

We accept, without reservation, the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the only rule and norm of faith and practice.

We accept, without reservation, all the symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as a true and unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God, to wit; the three ecumenical Creeds, the Unaltered Augsburg Confession, the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, the Smallcald Articles, the Small and the Large Catechism of Martin Luther, and the Formula of Concord.

No doctrine or practice in conflict or inconsistent with this confessional standard will be taught or tolerated in this congregation.

All literature used for devotional or religious education purposes (ministerial tracts, liturgical forms, prayers, hymns, books of instruction, etc.) shall be in agreement with the confessional standard set forth in this constitution and with sound Lutheran practices.

Our Christ centered ministry is built upon the foundation of God’s Word. Knowing and understanding more about the Bible, as the inerrant Word of God, provides a foundation for our focuses on:

  • our health and well-being of body, mind, and spirit,
  • walking the right path for a good life,
  • enhancing family stability through durable marriages and effective parenting,
  • strengthening the moral fabric of our nation,
  • how to thrive as a Christian in a competitive culture.

As a “family of families,” we seek to be a close and supportive group of believers that reaches out to all who come our way.

We would love to have you spend some time with us, get to know us and join with our fellowship in honoring our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are a member congregation of the English District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod

We are especially concerned that the integrity of the Holy Bible be maintained.  To that end, we believe in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible, and that its message is the infallible Word from God for all areas of our lives.

Our understandings of the Christian faith are those proclaimed by the church in the days of the Reformation and written in the Catechism of Martin Luther and in the Book of Concord.  Congregations in our Synod and the English District are spread across the United States, and new ones are being added regularly.
